Solutions that don’t break the bank, reinvent the wheel or marginalize our teachers are within our grasp. We could have rigorous classes, safe and disciplined schools and treat teachers like professionals, and we could do so tomorrow if we wanted.

How did Duval County Schools do on the FCAT?
It looks like 30 schools improved, 21 dropped and 120 stayed the same. I wonder how we would have done if we had discipline and rigor in our classes and a motivated, appreciated and respected teacher force?
